Xiomara Wallace was born in Dominican Republican. She arrived to New York City at the age of 6 years old. Xiomara was the first from her family to earn a college degree from CUNY Herbert H Lehman College where she received her Bachelors in Health Service Administration. Xiomara also earned an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Psychology from CUNY Borough of Manhattan College.
Xiomara has had the great privilege to work in the health care industry for more than 15 years. Her passion, intelligence and grace has left her foot prints in every company she has worked for. During her 7 years with Emblem Health (formerly as HIP Health Plan), Xiomara developed and implemented an HIV/AIDS prevention program which resulted in a ten-fold increase in HIV testing among members. At Duane Reade she created the HIV/AIDS campaign which maximized HIV testing and HIV/AIDS awareness in high risk communities.
During her 3 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield Xiomara conceived “Member Appreciation Day”, and implemented activities at the health plan’s community service centers, which fostered higher quality measures and strengthened member retention campaigns.
Initiated HIV mobile testing, collaborated with Gay Men’s Health Crisis and increased value added services for the community. Now at NYC Health + Hospitals/ Kings County where she serves in the role of Assistant Director of Community & Government Affair. Xiomara has the opportunity to give back and engage the Brooklyn community. The highlight of her job is to represent the hospital at various community events and connect people to much needed services and resources.
On March 2018, Schneps Communication honored Xiomara for her outstanding work in the community as 2018 Power Women in Business. Xiomara resides in the Bronx with her two children.
